‘‘Brooke spotted a mole on my arm and suggested I contact my GP. It was a mole I was unaware of as it was on the back of my arm, and no one has commented on it before. I was unenthusiastic about contacting the GP - but she stated that she had completed a mole awareness course and could offer a mole mapping service. I agreed and she did this.

An email came back the next morning saying that although it looking like an atypical mole (and benign) it could be a melanoma, and that I needed it checking urgently. I got a same day appointment with my GP after explaining this and was referred to dermatology under the cancer pathway.

The mole was removed 3 weeks later.

The hospital rang to say that while not yet classed as cancer, and therefore good news it was a ‘changing mole’ and classed as melanoma in situ. I was recalled to the hospital for further excision to make sure a larger area was cancer free.

If Brooke hadn’t noticed it and been insistent on getting it checked, I would have left it and possibly been in a cancer situation in the near future. The GP and hospital were impressed when I told them how I had become aware of the mole.

As you can imagine I am EXTREMELY grateful to Brooke and recommend her service thoroughly.
