CryoPen is a quick and effective treatment for verrucas and warts using targeted cryotherapy. It delivers a fine jet of nitrous oxide to freeze the lesion, destroying tissue infected with Human papillomavirus.
Warts and verrucas are not routinely treated on the NHS, and many people find over-the-counter treatments ineffective or slow, particularly for stubborn lesions caused by the Human papillomavirus. Map My Mole - worried about a suspicious skin lesion?
The Map My Mole service offers skin lesion checks with expert dermatology review.
Using a dermatoscope, a high-quality image of your mole or skin concern is sent to a UK consultant dermatologist for assessment. Results are usually returned within 24-48 hours.
It’s a convenient and reassuring way to have your skin checked without long waiting times, helping identify any concerns early, including signs of skin cancer.

A consultation is required prior to treatment, but if eligible for treatment we can usually do this in the same appointment.
What happens during the consultation?
Firstly, the lesion will be examined to check that it is eligible for treatment, and that it is not suspicious. We will go through a brief health consultation, including questions about your skin - this ensures that Cryopen is the correct treatment for you.
If your lesion is suitable for treatment, I will explain the process, what results you can expect, and any aftercare required. Feel free to ask any questions to ensure you feel fully informed and comfortable.
If your lesion is not suitable for treatment, it will not be removed. I will talk you through alternative options, which may include treatment elsewhere or a referral to your GP or the Map My Mole service for further assessment - if the lesion looks suspicious.
If you are ready, the lesion can usually be removed there and then. If you are undecided, you are welcome to take some time to think it over and book in at a time that suits you. I will also provide guidance on aftercare and what to expect during recovery.
